Back to the Beach

A new year and again a whole new direction. I hope this will be my last change for quite a long time. After a whole lot of deliberation, I left a job with the federal government I’d held for 20 plus years. The vaccine mandate was a road I just could not in good conscience go down. So, I walked away. Besides, after 20 years, I was ready to something else. And the something else just kinda fell into my lap.

I decided I was moving back to Alabama where I grew up from the time I was 13. I wasn’t sure what I was gonna do but I needed to do something. As a certified scuba instructor, I thought maybe I could do some of that. I sent a contact form to a new shop in Orange Beach and got an immediate response wanting my resume, wanting to set up a contact time etc. So after much phone tag and trying to catch someone at the shop, I was offered a position as a full-time instructor. Of course, I will have to change certifying agencies yet again but I’m ok with that. The shop owner already has my first two students lined up. Plus, there’s a trip down to Florida to swim with the manatees again in late January. So back to the beach is looking like it might be a good move.
