Some New Directions

It’s a a new year and many things have changed since my last post. I took a new job and moved from Virginia to Georgia. Still a government drone but in a much better place for me. I finally got serious about learning to ride a motorcycle. I had traded for a 2006 Kawasaki KLR 650 which needed some work. I got it running, took the MSF class then bought a newer 2013 KLR. This was October of 2019. Then came winter, transferring to Georgia, Corona virus. I moved both bikes to Georgia then sold the 2006 model. If I had known half of Atlanta wanted it, I would have asked for a whole lot more. The proceeds went for another project bike, what turned out to be a 1982 DR250. More on that one later. I managed one diving day for PADI’s Women’s Dive Day at Kraken Springs above Atlanta. Got fed a nice steak lunch by Big Boy’s Scuba too. But that is some cold water in Kraken. I’ll have to invest in a dry suit to do much diving there. Was supposed to dive Belize in July and that got cancelled. Was gonna go to Cozumel over the holidays and didn’t have the funds. I did take a trip to Marathon but didn’t dive.

Since there’s not much scuba going on right now, I’ve decided to expand this blog to include motorcycle stuff too. With the Covid social distancing B/S, it seems to be the perfect activity. Right now, I’m still just riding around my ‘hood. This weekend though, I plan to venture out on the road. I now live out in the country whereas in Virginia Beach, I was a city dweller. Not sure which is best. In VB, there was Tidewater Community College a block away where I could practice riding skills. Here in Georgia, it’s get out on the road. I guess each has its advantages.

I plan to actually set riding goals to accomplish between now and say, April. Also more on those later. Anyway, welcome to the world of Diving and Riding.
